Dave, owner/operator

BIO:

This is Dave the owner of Urban Ink Tattoo & Piercing Company. Ever since he's been able to pick stuff up he's been drawing on everything he could touch, although his parents weren't always impressed with his choice of materials such as spaghetti on the walls, or markers all over his skin, they always continued to back him up with his art throughout his whole life. Growing up his friend's parents and school teachers, amongst other people, weren't too thrilled with him. Especially when their kids came home with pen and marker all over them. He would draw on anything he could touch and in grade eight he was given a starving artist award for all the times he was caught drawing on something he wasn't supposed to.

At a young age he was diagnosed with ADHD, OCD and ODD, which are learning and behavioral disabilities, for this he was misunderstood by most people and labeled as a troublemaker. Combined with a short temper and a bad history with teachers and other authorities he started having a tough time continuing in school, and with not many options open in his life he started getting into trouble, left school and went to join the army. It was either that or sink deeper into the street life than he already was and possibly never get out.

Just before being accepted Dave became good friends with a tattooist who did it for a living and offered Dave a chance to open up a shop with him and take Dave as an apprentice, so he jumped on the offer and told the army they would have to wait. He started going back to school, and practicing on his career as a tattooist and piercer. About four years passed and Dave had finished high school and business was booming, but Dave was ready to move on and start his own business and find his own path, so he broke the news to his friend, packed up and headed off on his own.

He opened up a studio in his house for about 3 years and decided it was time to go bigger but needed to find a partner to help him out, so he did, and who better than his own father a man who saw not only a great investment opportunity but a way to once again backup and help out his son. Now here Dave is a proud owner of one of the newest, tattoo and piercing hot spots on the map, Urban Ink.
